Protecting Big Business

Here a soldier patrols the parking lot of the Fox Hills Mall in Culver City. Early in the rioting, most of the larger commercial establishments seemed to receive better police protection than small businesses. This shopping center was untouched by arson or looting. A Fedco store in Culver City, however, proved such a popular looting spot that a traffic jam developed nearby as people drove home with their new free stuff.
